Aesha is a wellness consultant, author, columnist, and speaker.
I had an epiphany in paradise (Hawaii). No, I mean literally………I always thought my dream was to be engineer working for a big tech company. And I loved doing it for a few years given my education in computer science. But being glued to my chair for hours started taking a toll on my health and my motivation to continue declined.
I became active, doing regular exercise and running, trying to combat lower back pain that came with the sedentary work. As my pain started dissipating, and people started noticing my transformation, a spark ignited while hiking at the Haleakalā National Park in Hawaii, when my hiking guide suggested that I should teach exrcise classes. That was all the the stimulus I needed to pursue what I loved; helping people live a healthier and functional life.
At first my career in Exercise industry seemed like a mismatch. However, I immediately recognized the opportunity it presented, to understand the most important asset we possess our health. Even money can’t buy health, but our lifestyle can.
After serving many years in corporate America as a software programmer, I left the Corporate world to pursue my passion for helping others discover courage and strength. I enjoyed my time in the corporate world, but I knew that the corporate environment was missing key elements of employee wellness leading to stress, burnout, and poor physical health. Now as a corporate wellness consultant I spread the joy of movement by helping corporate teams find joy and fulfillment in their work while living a heathy life.
